Welcome!
My name is Matida Bojang and I am the President of The Mbama Care Foundation, a grassroots organization that assists Gambian communities ravaged by poverty and maternal and infant mortality by providing aid in the areas of maternal care, physical and mental health, education and food insecurity. The birth of this organization occurred when Mballing and I saw a need to reduce Gambian’s high maternal and infant mortality rate. As a result of this passion, we decided that creating a foundation that utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to the growing issue of maternal and infant mortality in The Gambia would be one way to tackle this issue. We plan to raise funds in the United States and The Gambia with our partner organization, The Mbama Care Foundation – The Gambia, to carry out our projects. Some of our future projects include a research project on maternal mortality in The Gambia, transportation services for pregnant women, providing women and girls with less labor-intensive devices, education series on pregnancy and natal care, as well as providing postpartum and natal care kits to women in rural communities who do not have access to those products. Our bigger project is a maternal clinic, which we hope to execute in a few years.
We are currently seeking sponsors who have interests in global health disparities and would like to help us execute our goal of reducing the maternal and infant mortality rate in The Gambia. Thank you for visiting our website and we hope our paths cross as we quest for a better future in global health delivery.
Sincerely,
Matida Bojang,
President and Co-Founder, Mbama Care Foundation
