Gambian Women’s Lives Matter GoFundMe Campaign

On September 18th, 2020, The Mbama Care Foundation USA, Inc. team started a fundraiser to help pay for prenatal and postnatal medical care for pregnant women in The Gambia.

The caption reads,

“The dysfunctional healthcare system in Gambia has resulted in many devastating losses. Getting pregnant is a death sentence for many women in Gambia. We must attack this issue from all angles; from increasing access to prenatal and postnatal care, transportation, as well as just spreading awareness about this issue. This a maternal health crisis and we need to act soon before more women die.

The funds from this campaign will be used to support pregnant women by paying for their medical expenses, transportation, and other birth-related expenses.

With more than one-third of Gambians living on less than $1.25 per day, many people are unable to get access to good healthcare because of the cost.

I also urge you to add the “Gambian Women’s Lives Matter Frame” to your Facebook profile picture to amplify the voice of the many victims of this inequity.

Any amount is appreciated.

Thank you.”

The team has managed to raise nearly 8% of it’s goal and are hoping to raise their goal of $3,000 by the middle of October.
