COVID-19 is spreading in The Gambia and the testing and medical resources are not readily available. As of August 6, 2020, the government of The Gambia has instituted a nightly curfew, closed schools and houses of worship, restaurants, and reduced the hours of the markets. Closure of the markets impacts the women who need to sell what they grow for survival. In addition, women who are selling at the market and are being given citations (tickets) with fines that they cannot afford to pay.
